Holy Week

It’s Holy Week! This is, like, a big deal in the church calendar; it’s a ritual way to live out the story of what Christ did on the cross. Each day commemorates some moment from right before he died, the stuff he left us with just before what looked like the end. Christians tend to spend this week in focussed meditation on what he gave us in those days: we sit with those gifts and what we believe they cost.

I thought I’d toss up some fruits of that meditation as they come forth in my own life this week, so you can share them with me if you care to. It’s been a Very Hebrew Lent on my end, so mostly I’ll be posting translations of passages that seem to me to illuminate the various days, and maybe some quick reflections. Take what gives life; leave the rest.
